DRUM MAKING AND BIRTHING
I am a Shaman and Sacred Drummer. Drumming is the first sound a baby hears – its mothers heartbeat. So to drum is a very nurturing experience it has been proven by scientific studies to lower heartbeat increase serotonin the natural happy factor in our brain.
So to make/birth a buffalo frame drum in a weekend made from sustainable Ash cover the frame with deerskin to make a totally natural drum. This is the back of Amy's Buffalo Drum she made with me. The Drum is still damp so will fit the frame more tightly as it dries out.
The 2 day workshop commences with a journey to be introduced to your skin and beautifully crafted Ash frame. Ash in Viking mythology represents the World Tree and has the capability to span the worlds within the Universe. We will go out into the local woods to connect your Ash hoop to Nature and its fellow trees.
Whilst making the Drum we will work within the Medicine Wheel of Sacred Space. You are taught how to perform a smudge with sacred sage picked by first nation.
How to care for your drum and how to drum. You may even be given a name and purpose for your drum.
The workshop includes lunch and your materials. You may like to bring your own stick for your beater found with its purpose in mind when you are out in a woodland or from your own garden.
I only work with a maximum of 4 people to birth a drum so you may truly connect with your drum. Size of drum is 14 ",16”or !8” depending on the size of the skin.

Rattle Making.
Rattle is an important tool for dispelling negativity shaking things up. Soothing young children and babies it is also used in working Shamanically to seal in peoples souls when performing a Soul Retrieval. To return things to normal. It can also be used in Meditation and to Journey Shamanically This is a workshop that will help you design and make your Rattle and help develop your skills to work with your Rattle. This is a two part workshop because your rattle needs time to dry out preferably a week. two half day workshop.
You look at booking this as a way of team building or doing an activity with friends.In this special time Rattle can be used to connect with Nature too.
