Voice Work
Having sung in a number of choirs since the age of 11 I became interested in studying the therapeutic use of the voice 12 years ago. Now as a teacher training other practitioners. Over time I have found that our life experiences can have quite an impact on our voices and the way we breathe.
Stress causes us to shallow breathe thereby not using our full lung capacity which impinges on our voices and energy levels and feelings of self-esteem. In these sessions you will be shown how to breathe correctly, how to recognise the signs of stress within you and given exercises to combat this. If you don’t breathe correctly you cannot speak or sing to your maximum potential. We begin by working with the voice through a number of therapeutic exercises.
I have found in my experiences of helping people with their voices their self- esteem rises significantly. So if you say you can’t sing seem to struggle with energy levels and feel sometimes you don’t have enough get up and go, try this therapy.
